A LETTER
From the Owners
WELCOME FROM THE QUINCE COFFEE HOUSE
We are Katharine, John and Jenna and we are honored to serve owners of Quince Coffee House.
As customers of Quince and long-time Colorado residents, we knew that this place was something special and were overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a part of its legacy. Our lives have been about investing in the public community and we seek to continue that effort through Quince.
Katharine comes from 20 years in k-12 and university education, primarily through roles with scholarships, housing, international education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She earned a dual bachelors degree from her home state at the University of Maine in International Affairs and French and then her masters degree from Colorado State University in Student Affairs in Higher Education, continuing to work on campus for another decade. A pivotal moment for her was teaching a course on Fair Trade in Managua, Nicaragua and Oaxaca, Mexico, both with an emphasis on coffee. It was this experience of coffee that eventually would lead her to Quince, with the goal of furthering an understanding and appreciation for this classic beverage.
Jenna Comes from, and currently lives on, the traditional territories and stolen ancestral homelands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe Nations currently known as Denver, Colorado (East Denver). They was raised by a strong black community, led by resilient & inspiring black women. They have been working in higher education for 10+ years, supporting students as they navigate the unnecessary complexities of pursuing a college degree. She has degrees from CU Boulder & Portland State University. She is also a proud Denver East High School graduate! Jenna has worked as an entrepreneur in the educational context and has decided to apply their knowledge and skills to supporting the growth success of Quince Coffee house and the beautiful community that we serve.
John has served the city and state of Denver, Colorado directly through transportation and safety, continuing to work full-time with Union Pacific Railroad. He grew up in Aurora where he went to college at Community College of Aurora after returning from serving 4 years in the U.S. Army. As a Taiwanese American, born in Japan, and serving in Korea, John thrives on learning the nuances of coffees and teas from around the world.
We believe in building inclusive communities and creating access for everyone; in small business and big dreams; in family and friends. We would love to learn about your stories and experiences over a hot cuppa anytime. Thank you for taking the time to be a part of the Quince family. We are grateful to be sharing it with you.
With abundant love,
Katharine, John, & Jenna
